First of all, peace is evidence that we are walking in the Spirit.How are we to attain and maintain Perfect Peace? Perfect Peace is given only to those whose mind and heart recline upon the LORD,i.e., "whose mind is stayed on Thee: becausehe trusteth in Thee" (Isaiah 26:3). However, not only have we been promised deliverancefrom the Tribulation Week, i.e., "Watchye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape ALL thesethings that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man" (Luke 21:36), but we have been promised His peace while we endure these short testingsin the meantime. In the world ye shallhave tribulation: but be of good cheer I have overcome the world" (John 16:33). "Thesethings I have spoken unto you, that in Me ye might have peace. He LORD Jesuspromised us tribulation, while we were in this world. "Thou wilt keep him in Perfect Peace, whose mindis stayed on Thee: So in the midst of our busy, stressed, scattered, or consuming seasons - whether they be full of “to-do” lists, preparations for celebrations, holiday planning, grocery runs, work emails, diaper changes, constant advertisements of things we “need,” figuring out dinner, dealing with a crisis, or just getting the kids to do their homework on time, may we remember that God gives perfect peace to those who trust in Him.įor the full write-up, turn to page 176 of your Fighting Words Devotional.Or, What is Required and Received byThose Who Truly Wait for Their LORD It is so easy to get distracted for me, and so I come to these words from Isaiah, and I’m reminded that generally when I am feeling scattered and split in every direction, it’s because I’m putting my trust and my hope in things that will never truly offer me rest or measure up to the Lord and His love for me. Is that true for you too? I often feel scattered, moving ungracefully from one thought to another. I feel like my mind is anything but steadfast a lot of days. Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord, the Lord himself, is the Rock eternal. You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you. ![]()
